Yacht Point is a certified RYA Training Centre in Barcelona.
The RYA (Royal Yacht Association) is a UK organization of recognized international prestige that includes everything related to the world of sailing.
The courses we offer will benefit you in many ways. Some of these advantages are:

Introductory course to sailing, with international recognition.
During the Competent Crew course, you will be embarked for 5 days on a sailboat, learning seamanship sailing techniques.
Pre-course experience: No prior theoretical course is necessary, but the online Essential Navigation course is recommended.
Ability after course: Able to steer, handle sails, keep a lookout, row a dinghy and assist in all the day-to-day routines.
During the Competent Crew course, you will be embarked for 5 days on a sailboat, learning seamanship sailing techniques.

Day Skipper
For aspiring Skipper, with a basic experience in sailing.
It enables to navigate daytime cruises in familiar waters.
The Day Skipper course It is the equivalent of the Spanish Recreation Boat Skipper (PER) qualification, but much more practical and in English.
Pre-course experience: 5 days , 100 miles, 4 night hours.
Ability after course: Skipper a small yacht in familiar waters by day.

Coastal Skipper
Course for aspiring skipper with experience in sailing that enables coastal navigation by day and night.
The Coastal Skipper Course requires a theory equivalent to the Spanish Yacht Skipper (PY) and 5 days of continuous evaluation on board.
Pre-course experience: 15 days, 2 as skipper, 300 miles, 8 night hours.
Ability after course: Knowledge, if not the experience, to become a Yachtmaster

Yachtmaster Coastal (Power or sail)
Skipper with technique and advanced knowledge in navigation ability for day and night crossings without losing sight of the coast.
To become a Coastal Yachtmaster, the same exam and preparation as the Offshore Yachtmaster, with a less demanding level.
Pre-course experience: 30 days, 2 as skipper, 800 miles, 12 night hours.
Ability after course: Knowledge, if not the experience, to become a Yachtmaster.

Yachtmaster offshore (Power or sail)
The Yachtmaster Offshore Qualification demonstrates a proven experience as a skipper who is qualified to sail up to 150 miles from the coast.
Pre-course experience: 50 days, 5 as skipper, 2500 miles (half in tidal waters), 5 passages over 60 miles.

Yachtmaster Ocean
Theoretical course of Sextant and astronomy that qualifies the skipper without any limitation. At the end there is a written exam.
The second part of the Ocean Yachtmaster Course is the elaboration of a work of a voyage of more than 500 miles and the oral exam to evaluate it.
Pre-course experience: Be in possession of the Yachtmaster Offshore and have made a crossing of more than 600 miles in the ocean.
